Erik Judson

Chief Executive Officer

Erik Judson is chief executive officer of JMI Sports. Judson determines strategic direction for the company, while overseeing day-to-day business operations. He also leads business development, manages client relations and is actively involved in the implementation of each project and property.

Since founding JMI Sports in 2006, Judson has assembled a leadership team with unparalleled sports industry experience. To serve the diverse needs of the firm’s clientele, Judson developed a comprehensive set of services that includes multimedia rights, sponsorships, ticket and premium sales, sports facility development, project financing and business operations. In every area of focus, Judson emphasizes top quality service and extraordinary attention to detail. His collaborative approach has proven effective in building strong partnerships that provide great long-term benefit to the company’s clients and partners.

Prior to JMI Sports, Judson spent 10 years with the San Diego Padres. He joined the organization in 1996 as special assistant to the president and CEO, Larry Lucchino. As the first hire dedicated solely to managing the design and development of the team’s new ballpark, Judson was involved in every aspect of the project from the earliest stages of planning through the successful opening of Petco Park in 2004. During his tenure with the club, Judson was named vice president of development and ultimately was promoted to executive vice president of external affairs.

A former professional baseball player in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, Judson holds a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
