Chief Revenue Officer, Penn Sports Properties
George Perry is chief revenue officer of Penn Sports Properties, powered by JMI Sports. He is responsible for the management of the athletics multimedia rights for the University of Pennsylvania, which includes Penn Athletics, The Penn Relays and Penn Campus Recreation. Based in Philadelphia, Perry leads his team in maximizing revenue, media exposure and corporate partnership benefits to Penn Athletics. As a Penn alum, Perry has the first-hand knowledge, established ties and genuine passion that enable him to develop creative marketing solutions and build valuable relationships with sponsors, fans, alumni and students.
Perry has over 20 years of experience developing strategic partnerships between professional and amateur teams, leagues, athletes, governing bodies and world renowned brands. His most recent role was as senior director of global corporate channel sales and strategic partnerships for Rosetta Stone in Arlington, VA. He also worked as director of partnership and event marketing for XM Satellite Radio and director of event and sponsorship marketing for Visa International. For each of these companies, Perry developed and implemented key partnerships with major sports properties, including: the NFL, MLB, NASCAR, PGA TOUR, USOC, Pan American Games, Power Five athletic conferences and numerous universities.
In addition to his experience in the corporate sector, Perry has led sales and marketing efforts for two pro sports teams, as the vice president of strategic marketing for the Washington Redskins and senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Washington Freedom Women’s Professional Soccer team.
Beyond his full-time job, Perry has also been an adjunct professor in the Sports Industry Management master’s program at Georgetown University since 2009.
Perry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He also attended the University Pennsylvania, earning a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Master of Arts in international studies from the School of Arts and Sciences.
In between his studies, Perry served in the U.S. Navy for six years as a surface warfare officer and foreign exchange officer.
