Campus-Wide Partnership with Founders Federal Credit Union Announced

Founders goes “All In” with major sponsorship of Clemson Athletics and Clemson University

Clemson Sports Clemson University, Founders Federal Credit Union and JMI Sports announced a comprehensive seven-year partnership that expands Founders’ commitment to Clemson Athletics and Clemson University.

As part of this agreement, Founders is now the Official Credit Union Partner of the Clemson Tigers and Clemson University, and will have an enhanced presence in the Clemson community with expanded visibility in athletics and greater integration into campus life and student events. In addition, Founders will now be offering its members a Clemson cobranded Debit Card this fall.

“Founders believes in supporting universities throughout our service areas and we are a longstanding supporter of Clemson University,” said Bruce Brumfield, Founders president and CEO. “This enhanced partnership will allow us to become an integral part of both the athletic and the on-campus Clemson experience.”

“We are thrilled to play a role in building a long-term and expansive partnership between Clemson and Founders,” said Scott Morris, president of Clemson Sports & Campus Marketing. “Building the Founders brand through a relationship with Clemson is smart business. Founders is the presenting sponsor of the homecoming football game and its brand will be especially prominent throughout Littlejohn Coliseum as seen on the basketball court and other areas.”

Additionally, Founders will enhance life on campus for Clemson students through its active sponsorship of major events and programs year-round, including being a proud partner of Clemson’s new bike share program, supporter of Campus Recreation and more.

“We are very excited that Founders is expanding its partnership with Clemson and enhancing campus life by investing in sponsorships for programs and events like homecoming, orientation, move-in weekend and welcome back week,” said Almeda Jacks, vice president for Student Affairs. “Our strategic partnership with Founders is providing wonderful opportunities to positively impact the experiences of our students on our campus.”

This partnership is one of the first major Total Campus Marketing partnerships signed since JMI Sports, operating as Clemson Sports & Campus Marketing, was named the long-term corporate sponsorship and multimedia rights partner for Clemson University earlier this year. The Founders agreement also includes a commitment to Head Football Coach Dabo Swinney’s All In Team Foundation.

“This sponsorship allows Founders to expand our reach in the Clemson market with maximum exposure on campus and throughout Clemson Athletics,” said Nicki Nash, Founders chief marketing officer. “We are thrilled to be an even larger part of the Clemson community, to expand the reach of our dynamic products and services – and especially – to introduce a cobranded Founders Visa Debit Card to our Clemson audience.”

Founders, the state’s largest credit union, has made a total commitment of nearly $6 million over seven years to sponsorship investments in Clemson Athletics and Clemson University, according to Morris.
