Judd Heathcote

Former Head Basketball Coach, Michigan State University

Judd Heathcote is one of the most successful and respected basketball coaches of all time. His 1979 Michigan State University team, led by Magic Johnson, won the NCAA Championship. His remarkable career as a head basketball coach spanned twenty four years, and his overall record at the University of Montana and Michigan State was 418-275, a .603 winning percentage. Prior to his first head coaching position at Montana, he served as head coach at West Valley High School in Spokane, and assistant coach at Washington State University.

Coach Heathcote has invaluable knowledge of the game of basketball and its players and coaches. His coaching tree includes Tom Izzo, Michigan State head coach, Don Monson, former University of Idaho and University of Oregon head coach, Scott Skiles, NBA head coach, and Brian Gregory, head coach at Georgia Tech University.
