Zach Davis manages projects for JMI Sports LLC, a fully integrated management and consulting firm that provides comprehensive services to the sports marketplace. The company was co-founded by Principal Erik Judson and John Moores, owner and chairman of the San Diego Padres.
Davis recently played a key role on the development of the new Matthew Knight Arena and underground parking structure for the University of Oregon. On those projects, he managed the development budgets, reviewed and processed all change orders, additional service requests and payment applications and worked closely with the University’s capital construction department to track and contain internal arena costs. He also oversaw aspects of construction administration, including RFI and CCD coordination and FF&E procurement. In addition, Davis manages predevelopment activities, such as budget and program development, for clients that have included the Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and University of San Diego.
Davis has worked nine years in real estate development in a variety of capacities within project management, marketing, financial analysis, accounting and acquisitions. During the development of PETCO Park, Davis worked closely with Erik Judson as an owner’s representative for the San Diego Padres. He was responsible for interfacing with the design and construction teams on numerous activities related to landscape, signage, seating and special projects. Davis later joined Bourn Partners as a financial manager, formulating capitalization strategies and overseeing over $100 million in construction financing. He later transitioned to an affiliate firm, The Kiernan Companies, acting as a development manager for the construction of FedEx Freight facilities throughout the Southwest and overseeing predevelopment and capitalization activities for a brand of luxury boutique hotels.
A graduate of Harvard University, with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Davis earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Davis and his wife, Annie, reside in San Diego, Calif. with their son Xavier (1).
