Team Procurement

JMI Sports has an extensive network of contacts in the professional sports community that are invaluable for securing a team to relocate to a client’s new sports venue. In addition, we have been instrumental in seeking ownership to purchase teams which occupy our client’s new sports venues. We will set up meetings with potential teams and owners and make presentations that show the latest schemes, site plans and renderings, while providing insight on the many benefits and revenue opportunities associated with a new location. Once a team has agreed to consider relocation, JMI Sports will work on behalf of the client to negotiate the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the team and the client. In addition, we will provide the team with the client’s existing program and work with them to add any program elements that they desire, while being mindful of any budget or schedule impacts that may result.

Revenue Generation

JMI Sports leverages our unique experience developing sports facilities to identify new revenue generation opportunities that can bring additional operational income to a client’s facility. These new revenue streams can be created in a variety of ways from minor modifications of the design, creation of additional amenities, and addition of sponsorship opportunities, to the operation and marketing of the facility. Each recommendation we provide will be analyzed for both cost and revenue implications and developed in partnership with our client in order to maximize its effectiveness.

Fan Experience

As avid sports fans ourselves we understand the importance of the fan experience and utilize that perspective to provide our clients with recommendations on both cost effective and industry-leading enhancements to their projects. This devotion to the fan experience is achieved through incredible attention to detail on all aspects of the project, from the placement of cupholders to the picture quality of the videoboard, and through the seamless incorporation of amenities throughout the venue. Our emphasis on both the smallest details and the greatest luxuries is critical to retaining and attracting premium clients and sponsors and delivering a product that the whole community can embrace.

Outreach

JMI Sports will assist the client in developing and implementing an outreach plan for key project stakeholders. Tremendous benefits are derived from keeping partners, opinion leaders and the community informed, engaged and excited about the project. Our experience working with sponsors, donors, community groups and political leaders has given JMI Sports insight into how invaluable these constituents are throughout the development process. We know how to navigate and foster these key relationships in order to provide the necessary support for a successful project.

Operations

Relying on our experience as an owner/operator of a major league ballpark, JMI Sports is always mindful of the end user and the operational efficiency of the facility. Throughout the development process we evaluate the effectiveness of the design from an operational standpoint to improve the functionality and long term maintenance of the facility. By reducing the on-going costs and labor associated with maintaining the facility, the client is ultimately able to derive more value from their building.
