Prior to founding JMI Sports in 2006, Judson served the San Diego Padres organization for nearly ten years. He was the first individual hired by the Padres dedicated solely to the new Ballpark Project in 1996. Judson was named Vice President of Development in 2001 and saw the project through to completion for the opening of PETCO Park in 2004. Subsequently, he became the Executive Vice President of External Affairs overseeing the club’s Ballpark Event Sales department and the Community Relations department. Judson currently serves on the San Diego Padres’ Board of Directors.


A former professional baseball player with the Philadelphia Phillies organization, Judson brought a valuable perspective to the Padres’ Ballpark development team. Judson was instrumental in the success of PETCO Park and was involved in virtually every element of its development, including: the formation of the design and development teams; planning of the new Ballpark District; garnering political support and voter approval; developing a parking structure and transportation strategy; and overseeing all phases of design and construction of the Ballpark itself.


Judson founded JMI Sports to apply the valuable knowledge and insights gained from the PETCO Park experience to other teams and towns. Judson is ultimately responsible for the delivery of all of JMI Sports’ projects, including: the City of Goodyear’s Spring Training Complex and City Center development, and the University of Oregon’s Matthew Knight Arena, Ford Alumni Center and underground parking structure projects.


A graduate of University of California, San Diego with a degree in Economics, Judson earned his Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University. Judson currently serves as a member of the Downtown San Diego Partnership Board, the UCSD Athletics Board and the Triton Athletic Associates Board.

Zach Davis has worked six years in real estate development in a variety of capacities within project management, marketing, financial analysis, accounting and acquisitions. During the development of PETCO Park, Davis served as an owner’s representative for the San Diego Padres, responsible for interfacing with the design and construction teams on numerous activities related to landscape, signage, seating and special projects. Davis later joined Bourn Partners as a financial manager, formulating capitalization strategies and overseeing over $100 million in construction financing. He later transitioned to an affiliate firm, The Kiernan Companies, acting as a development manager for the construction of FedEx Freight facilities throughout the Southwest and overseeing predevelopment and capitalization activities for a brand of luxury boutique hotels.


Davis is now a project manager for JMI Sports, responsible for managing the development budgets of the University of Oregon’s Matthew Knight Arena and associated parking structure projects.


A graduate of Harvard University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Davis earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arizona.

Craig McVicker has 30 years of experience in construction management and project development, working for Morrison-Knudsen Company, Trammell Crow Company, and as a sole proprietor. His design management and project construction portfolio includes class A office, retail, institutional, business and industrial parks and hospitality projects. For the last 16 years, McVicker has worked exclusively as an owner’s representative, providing leadership and guidance to owners of complex development and construction projects. He has gained expertise in entitlement approvals, permit processing, design and planning, contract negotiation, project administration, estimating, scheduling, contractor management and technical construction problem solving, making him a knowledgeable and effective leader.


At JMI Sports, McVicker is the senior manager on the Matthew Knight Arena project at the University of Oregon. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day development activities of the arena and its coordination with the adjacent Ford Alumni Center and underground parking structure projects.


McVicker holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska, a Certificate in Engineering Management from the University of California, Los Angeles, as well as a Certificate in Project Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Rosalie Brown has worked in accounting and administrative management for over 15 years. Her experience encompasses a variety of settings, including law, consumer product manufacturing, university campus operations and construction. Brown’s recent work included projects at the University of Oregon and Peace Health, the two largest employers in Lane County, Oregon. At Peace Health, Brown worked on the River Bend project team during the final phase of construction of the 1.2 million square foot hospital in Springfield, Oregon. As Assistant Project Cost Engineer, she was responsible for purchase order and invoice auditing for over $60 million of medical equipment and furniture purchases for the hospital.


At JMI Sports, Brown is a member of the University of Oregon project team, contributing to the development of the Matthew Knight Arena, the Ford Alumni Center and an underground parking structure. She performs construction administration and is responsible for managing the office operations of JMI Sports’ project office in Eugene.


Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master’s degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco.

Cassie Gray comes to JMI Sports from the engineering industry, working three years in aviation planning and design for Crawford, Murphy and Tilly in Chicago. At CMT, Gray was part of the project team that worked directly with the FAA to prepare environmental documents needed to secure federal funding for the $16 billion O’Hare Airport expansion. On the O’Hare project, Gray supervised project management and accounting for 12 sub-consultant firms, provided legal support and database maintenance for the FAA during litigation, and facilitated public forums related to property acquisition and environmental justice. Her prior experience in preparing budgets, proposals and contract documents in addition to developing strong relationships with clients and government agencies is an asset to her current work.


At JMI Sports, Gray is a project engineer on the University of Oregon projects, including the Matthew Knight Arena, the Ford Alumni Center and an underground parking structure.


Gray attended Purdue University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and the University of Oregon, earning a Master of Business Administration degree.

Kevin Haley brings over 25 years of commercial real estate experience to JMI Sports. His expertise has contributed to over 5 million square feet of development of various product types including office, hotel, retail, residential and sports facilities valued at over $2 billion. Beginning his career in Boston with Meredith & Grew, Haley was responsible for leasing over 1.5 million square feet of office space and completing sale transactions of $450 million during his 3 years with the firm. He dedicated the next 15 years to working for Hines on projects up and down the east coast, prior to relocating to San Diego to join the PETCO Park development team. Haley has experience in all aspects of development including: site analysis; land acquisition; entitlements; joint venture structuring; project budget control; selection and management of design teams; oversight of construction management teams; supervision of marketing, leasing and public relations personnel; establishment of general and administrative procedures; management of operations transition; and property management.


On behalf of JMI Sports, Haley currently manages the development of the University of Oregon’s Ford Alumni Center and a new underground parking structure. He also represents JMI Sports in managing the Goodyear City Hall and Library projects.


Haley earned a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Real Estate, from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of San Diego.

Louie Ruvane started his sales and marketing career in New York City in 1988 for McGraw Hill’s trade publication Architectural Record. After creating a successful advertising section for emerging building product companies, he brought his skills to Major League Baseball’s Baltimore Orioles. At the Orioles, Ruvane was instrumental in managing a transition of 20,000 season ticket holders from the old Memorial Stadium to their new downtown home, Camden Yards. He also managed a volunteer sales force of 65 local business leaders and created the first season ticket waiting list in Major League Baseball that grew to more than 13,000. In 1995, Ruvane was hired by the San Diego Padres to rebuild the team’s sales operation. In just five years Ruvane orchestrated a sales effort that produced an unprecedented surge in season and group ticket sales, which brought the Padres from last place in MLB ticket sales to the top ten. During this time he was also closely involved with the design of PETCO Park, ensuring that the lessons learned from Camden Yards would be applied. From 2000 to 2008, Ruvane was involved in creating Headlamp, Inc., a marketing software company; he consulted for the San Diego Padres, developing the architecture for their events department; he worked for the Tampa Bay Rays, rebuilding their sales department; and was involved in all sales, marketing and daily operational efforts at Barley Creek Brewing Company in Pennsylvania.


At JMI Sports, Ruvane focuses on pursuing new business opportunities and further developing the company’s portfolio of services. Ruvane also provides his expertise to clients in the areas of ticketing, facility programming and sponsorship sales.


Ruvane earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Wake Forest University.

Stephanie Johnston graduated from the University of San Diego in 2008 and has already gained valuable work experience through two internship positions. At SunCal Companies, a residential land developer, Johnston interned in the underwriting department as a financial analyst. She compiled and analyzed historical financial performances of completed projects and assessed potential acquisitions and development opportunities, including land development and home building projects. Johnston also interned at the McGuff Company, a pharmaceutical sales firm, where she performed contract evaluations and internal audits.


At JMI Sports, Johnston supports the company’s core business operations. She is responsible for bookkeeping and benefits administration and provides administrative assistance to the San Diego office.


Johnston earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance and a minor in mathematics from the University of San Diego. She is an active alumna, working with the business school to further improve the undergraduate career services center.

Dave Daterman has over 15 years of construction and project management experience with several leading firms including Skanska USA, International Facilities Group, Ethos Development and Gerding Elden Development. Daterman’s experience is within all phases of development from design to construction closeout. Highlights of his project experience include: the Rose Garden arena for the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers; PGE Park renovations for the Triple-A Portland Beavers baseball team and A-League Portland Timbers soccer club; the Save Mart Center (arena) at Fresno State University; a 14-story hospital addition; a 12-story biomedical research building; and a 16-story LEED Platinum mixed-use health center with over 40 tenants.


Daterman currently serves as a project manager for JMI Sports on the Matthew Knight Arena, the Ford Alumni Center and the underground parking structure projects for the University of Oregon.


Daterman earned a five-year Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon and is a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Accredited Professional.

He is the founder and former chairman of BMC Software, a business-to-business software company that he took public in 1988. In 1992, after leaving BMC Software, Moores formed JMI Services, Inc. to pursue investment opportunities in several strategic arenas including real estate, sports and entertainment and technology.

GOODYEAR BASEBALL LLC

Goodyear Baseball was a joint venture between JMI Sports and Civica Development. The company formed after the team's innovative concept to integrate a publicly owned spring training ballpark with a private mixed-use development was embraced by the City of Goodyear, Arizona. The City initially engaged Goodyear Baseball to secure interest from Major League Baseball teams, first the Cleveland Indians and later the Cincinnati Reds, and to provide support during the public approval process. Subsequently named development manager of the Spring Training complex, Goodyear Baseball successfully managed the design and construction of the ballpark and both player development facilities – delivering the entire project on-time and on-budget.
