Former Senior Vice President and Managing Director of IMG College to Lead JMI Sports New Capital & Media Division
Tom Stultz, a highly respected media and marketing executive and college sports veteran, has joined JMI Sports LLC as managing director of the newly formed Capital & Media Division. The JMI Sports Capital & Media Division a provider of financing solutions for new and renovated stadiums, ballparks and arenas, and a trusted source for multi-media consulting. Stultz will report directly to JMI Sports Principal, Erik Judson who co-founded the company with John Moores, owner and chairman of the San Diego Padres. The joint announcement was made today by Mr. Judson and Mr. Moores.
As Managing Director of the Capital & Media Division, Stultz will work with university athletic departments and conferences, professional sports teams and leagues, private entities and municipalities, to develop business plans and media strategies that increase revenue, identify alternative financing approaches that maximize development opportunities, and secure the most advantageous financing available that mobilizes major capital projects.

Prior to joining JMI Sports, Stultz was senior vice president and managing director of IMG College’s multimedia rights business. He led IMG’s efforts to negotiate and launch the Longhorn Network, an innovative partnership between the University of Texas, IMG College and ESPN, creating the first-of-its-kind network dedicated solely to the Texas Longhorns. Previously serving as president and chief executive officer of Host Communications, Stultz was instrumental in adding many top national collegiate properties, strengthening the company’s financial position before it was acquired by IMG in 2007.
With over 40-years of leadership experience in the traditional and multi-media fields, Stultz has guided public and private companies to record revenue and profit growth. He has negotiated and secured more than $1.1 billion in multi-media and sponsorship rights agreements with major universities.
He has worked with management, investment bankers, ratings agencies and investors to raise more than $500 million in bank financing and equity, while also participating in numerous mergers and acquisitions in traditional media and sports industries.
