Account Executive, Key Partnerships

SUMMARY

JMI Sports is seeking a professional sales executive to sell conceptual corporate sponsorship packages along with local radio, television, print and digital media. Must have a proven ability to solve marketing problems, develop and present creative proposals to clients, and achieve client revenue and company sales goals. Sales experience within a sports and/or university environment a plus. Must be extremely comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This full-time position is located in Lexington, KY.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors, including establishing such relationships with New Accounts as they are transitioned to the Key Partnerships team;
  • Direct management of Key Partnership accounts, as assigned, including negotiating and closing renewals and upsells, working with management through contract execution
  • Working as a member of the Key Partnerships team to organize and execute sponsorship activation for campus and athletics
  • Working to develop sponsor relationships that are partnership driven, implementing white-glove, consultative sales strategies
  • Collaborating with Company and Property leadership on priorities and strategies to increase revenues on the property
  • Assisting with the coordination of fulfillment elements with the university
  • Assisting with fulfillment for advertising, radio, television, digital, print and internet components
  • Supporting game day activities, hospitality events and on-court/on-field promotions, including interacting with sponsors
  • Assisting with the coordination of activations plan timelines, and fulfilling assets for each contracted agreement assigned
  • Supporting property promotions and customer service events
  • Preparing year end reviews for clients at season’s end
  • Maintaining detailed CRM of all relevant sponsor communications
  • Contributing thoughts or actions to boost revenues for Company and the University of Kentucky
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5+ years of successful and creative sponsorship/advertising/media sales experience
  • Understanding of sponsorship sales, event marketing and activation process
  • Understanding of digital media and media/advertising buys
  • Ability to communicate value of sponsorship vs. pure media as a marketing solution
  • Ability to quickly grasp consultative sales techniques
  • Excellence in pitching, negotiating and closing advertising or sponsorship deals
  • Ability to successfully multi-task, prioritize and immediately respond to client requests
  • Ability to develop creative proposals that meet and exceed potential partners’ needs
  • Organized, self-motivated and curious
  • Professional communication skills, including strong writing abilities
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
