James leads the New Business team at Utah Utes Partnerships, where he oversees corporate sponsorships, multimedia campaigns, and fan engagement platforms that elevate the University of Utah Athletics brand. His work supports the continued growth and visibility of Utah Athletics while delivering meaningful value to university partners and stakeholders.

With over two decades of experience in sports partnerships, James has a proven track record of success building lasting corporate relationships and delivering innovative marketing solutions that connect brands with passionate fanbases. Now in his eighth season with Utah Utes Partnerships, he previously served as General Manager of the Big Sky Conference with Learfield and as Director of Partnership Sales for Major League Soccer’s REAL Salt Lake. He began his career in sports broadcasting with the Washington Commanders.

A native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, James played collegiate lacrosse at Shenandoah University, where he earned a degree in Mass Communications. He has called Salt Lake City home for more than a decade and takes full advantage of Utah’s world-class skiing.
