Mountain West and JMI Sports Sign 12-Year Multimedia Rights Agreement

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West, in conjunction with JMI Sports, announced today a 12-year multimedia rights agreement which will begin on July 1, 2020 and run through the 2031-32 academic year. This exciting new relationship marks another in a series of significant recent announcements by the Conference.

JMI Sports, which will manage all the Mountain West’s corporate partnerships, including football and basketball title sponsorships, is the only collegiate marketing firm with an office in Silicon Valley, continuing the league’s enhanced emphasis on its western footprint. The Conference becomes part of a smaller but prestigious list of partners, enabling JMI Sports to enhance focus on the Mountain West brand and the growth of the property.

“During the process, the Mountain West received great interest from several multimedia rights organizations, but we feel JMI Sports at this time offers a unique approach to the marketing of conference sponsorships, which aligns with our long-standing philosophy of innovation,” said MW Commissioner Craig Thompson. “JMI Sports is already working with a notable group of institutions and conferences and we are excited to join that list.”

“I do want to take this opportunity to thank the great people at Learfield IMG College and wish them nothing but the best in the future,” added Thompson. “We appreciate all they have done for the Mountain West during our time together.”

The Mountain West’s multimedia rights have been managed by Learfield IMG College for the past seven years. The league’s current multimedia rights contract expires June 30, 2020.
